The Moselexpress gets company: Starting from January 2019, the Am Zehnhoff-Söns Group offers a novel block train service. The new, additional overnight service connects the Multimodal Terminal Trier with the Port of Antwerp twice a week. This connection complements the waterway transport between Trier and Antwerp and offers an interesting alternative to direct truck transport. One-way-transport is possible, too – as the terminal depot at the port of Trier offers a sufficient storage area.
Efficiency meets ecological awareness
The railway connection combines maximum efficiency with high environmental friendliness. We at Am Zehnhoff-Söns are aware of our ecological responsibility – it is not least for this reason that we rely on our new block train service which offers a much better environmental balance than direct road transport. Besides that, due to the 44-tonnes-regulation within Combined Transport, the train is able to carry up to four tons more payload per container compared to direct trucking – and this without traffic jams and congestion, which leads to optimal predictability and high efficiency.
Benefits at a glance:
- Additional 4 tonnes more payload compared to direct trucking
- One-way transport solution
- Better environmental balance compared to direct trucking
- Optimal predictability
